Mirrors Edge

When a truly "revolutionary" game comes out I'm always a bit skeptical of how it got its distinction. Well I am here to burst Mirrors Edge revolutionary bubble. I am not here to say that mirrors edge didn't have a new feel, but past the first person abnormalty all the mechanics in the game have been done before. It was called Prince of Persia and it was a great game while Mirrors Edge felt incomplete to me. The puzzles are fun, except when you are running away from enemies (which is all the time). When you are running away you feel helpless and look for the game to give you at least a small indicator of what to do. But the game gives you nothing. The infamous B button which is suppose to show you where to go never really helps you much. Fighting in the game is completly pointless as most of the hostiles are stronger then you and have guns. This leaves you running and as I stated before you have no idea where to run too. It isn't the fast pace running game I thought it would be. There is greatness in the game, but a lot of the time it is bogged down by bad level design and the inability to recognize where a hard puzzle should be places and when the player should be given a straigth foward running obstacle. OH yea heres a reoccuring scenario. Running away doing a perfect jump and not realizing there was a red plank you had jump from. It makes no sense why a small plank makes the jump that much farther, but apparently its crucial in future revolutionist.
